John W Pratten III
After more than a decade as a professional thermographer, John Pratten founded Proactive Maintenance Consultants (PMC) in May 2011. Prior to starting PMC, John honed his expertise at two leading infrared inspection firms, working in Sales, Sales Management, and Hands-on Thermography, supporting major clients across North America, Asia, and Europe.
John is an ASNT-compliant Level III Thermographer and a seasoned instructor, teaching Level I and Level II Full-Certification Thermography Courses. His combined field and classroom experience ensures clients and students benefit from practical, actionable insights.
Through PMC, John has completed hundreds of thermal inspections for both single-site and multi-site customers, including numerous Fortune 500 companies. PMC remains committed to helping organizations enhance reliability, detect hidden issues, and prevent costly downtime through professional infrared inspections and training.
Infrared Training from PMC
John has conducted Infrared Training and has worked on various custom infrared applications for customers in Europe, Asia and North America. PMC offers a variety of infrared courses including 4 hour CEU courses in some states, Level I and Level II classes as well as customized classes to fit a customer”s training needs.
One specialty class that has been successful is how to set up a sustainable Predictive Maintenance program to maximize the IR program investments of his customers. This class can include setting up a complete or partial thermal inspection of the clients electrical and or mechanical assets and then teaching the client how to follow the inspection process the following years.
Aspect Training and Support
PMC also sells and offers field support and training for ‘Aspect’ software. This software is a tool for the thermographer that allows them to work smarter while improving accuracy, speed and consistency of inspections. The software provides an easy online web-based means of sharing critical information with all stake holders in the company.
Using Aspect, PMC offers another software/reporting option for thermographers. We can collect inspection details and images of thermal and visual issues and supply customized reports alone with web access to all data for all stake holders.
PMC also performs thermography work and training in building science as well as thermal scanning. John has also worked closely with state agencies and provided training related to projects to improve the quality of Low-Income Housing.
John has authored several published articles and has a patent in the area of IR.
Preston Forthun – CEO
Joining PMC in 2017, Preston brings a wide array of experience throughout multiple industries. His customer service skills and attention to detail fit well in the predictive maintenance arena. Preston is a Level III Infraspection Institute Certified Infrared Thermographer® performing infrared and acoustic ultrasound inspections for many single and multi-site clients in commercial, residential, and industrial settings. In addition to being a practicing thermographer he helps train aspiring thermographers and leads PMC in business development.
Craig Aizman – CSO
Craig is responsible for key strategic account development and driving revenue growth. With 40 years of experience in the automotive industry, property development and management industries, Craig has a deep understanding of preventative maintenance, energy efficiency, and sustainable energy solutions. He is committed to providing tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of his clients and building strong relationships with them.
Craig has a track record or successfully launching and growing products and businesses, collaborating with clients to drive growth, and staying ahead of industry trends. Craig is responsible for helping to develop and execute the company’s sale strategies, expand its reach and impact in the marketplace, and providing valuable insights and strategies to clients through the applications of infrared inspections and implementation of predictive maintenance programs.
