After spending a decade as a professional Thermographer, John Pratten founded Proactive Maintenance Consultants in May of 2011. PMC is registered as an LLC in Minnesota. Prior to founding the company, John had worked at two prominent infrared companies in sales, sales management and as a thermography expert supporting major clients throughout North America, Asia and Europe .
John is an ASNT compliant, Level III trained Thermographer with Proactive Maintenance Consultants, LLC. PMC has and continues to perform hundreds of thermal inspections for both single and multiple site customers including a number of fortune 500 clients.

Thermal Scanning
PMC offers customized thermal scanning for any size company. Scans can be customized to cover all or selected assets including data centers, high and medium voltage systems, UPS and generator systems, HVAC, and steam systems.
Customized Thermal Training Programs
We offer “Crash Courses in basic thermography”. These customized programs can be held at your facility and scheduled to fit the need of the students. In other words, we can work around your schedule!
Inspection Management Software
PMC offers InspecTrend software for sale or offers software reporting services to clients. The software reporting service could be an alternative as your company grows. As your business expands you may elect to take on your own reporting activity. Any work that we have done with you can be transferred when you bring the software in-house.

Following standards established by the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT), we offer Level I and Level II in-person classes at your facility or any accommodating public venue.

PMC has over 20 years of experience in thermography. We have performed thousands of electrical and mechanical infrared inspections for commercial and industrial properties throughout the United States.
All inspections are performed by Level III Infraspection Institute Certified Infrared Thermographers utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. All work is performed following industry best practices and published standards.
Also, PMC offers high resolution aerial imaging along with ground imaging for building facades and roofs looking for air infiltration, exfiltration and moisture in walls and roofs.
PMC can perform thermal/visual aerial inspections of photovoltaic systems as well as ground scans of all support equipment.
In all cases we supply high quality reports in an electronic format.
We offer both ground and aerial thermal inspections of power generation facilities such as coal, natural gas, geo-thermal, wind, and solar farms.
Thermal inspections include, but are not limited to, substations and transmission lines.
PMC offers acoustic ultrasound imaging inspections that can detect corona and nitrogen leaks from transformers.
